The Creek Hack Golf Society was founded by Kevin Dunleavey back in the nineties. Games were originally held midweek evenings in the floodlit Nad Al Sheeba course. The first golfers in the Creek Hack were members of the Creek Hash House Harriers which is still going strong in Dubai. There are several Hashes in the Emirates, maybe five in Dubai alone, and loads of Hashes all over the world. When Kevin started the Hack it was known as the Creek Hack House Harriers, later shortened to just The Creek Hack from which he derived the current logo..
So I suppose you could say the Creek Hack is an offshoot of The Creek Hash. Now The Creek Hack is attached to the beautiful nine-hole Jebel Ali Golf Club in Dubai, UAE.
Ian Olwagen is the sitting President of The Creek Hack Golf Society since 2016. Hailing from South Africa, Ian has called Dubai his home since 2004. Ian Olwagen - “it was initially intended for drinkers with a running problem or runners with a drinking problem” .
Mark Littlechild has been looking after the scores and leaderboards for The Creek Hack Golf Society since 2019, and most recently, has designed a website for Hackers to view and retrieve their golf data. Pictured here with a random trophy.... you can take the Aussie out of Australia.....
The Creek Hack Golf Society encourages both men and women to participate on the last Saturday of every month at their home course, Jebel Ali Golf Club. After an invigorating and competitive round we invite all Hackers to rest, relax and regale all with their golfing prowess at the 19th Hole - The Sports Bar Terrace.
